What is the WEBP format?

WEBP is an image format created by Google for the web. At the same visual quality, its files are usually 25–35% smaller than JPG and much smaller than PNG, and it also supports transparency. Using WEBP improves your website’s loading speed, a factor search engines also take into account.

Every current browser displays WEBP images. To create them with this tool you need Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Opera; if your browser cannot generate them, we will let you know.
